Terms of Service
Last updated: 3 October 20261. What this website does
York Plumber 247 is a request service for drainage work in York and surrounding areas. You send your details through the request form, and the request is passed on so an engineer can respond. The site does not carry out drainage work itself. The engineer who takes the job runs a separate business.
2. Sending a request
Sending the form asks for contact about your problem. It does not book a visit, and it does not create a contract for drainage work. Any contract you make is with the engineer.
3. Quotes and prices
The engineer who takes your job sets the price, so ask for a written quote before work starts. Ask whether there is a call-out charge. Also ask what the quote includes and what it leaves out.
4. Payment
Since this website does not take payments, you agree payment terms with the engineer. Ask how and when to pay before work starts. Keep a receipt for any payment.
5. Cancellations
Cancellation terms depend on the engineer. You should tell the engineer as early as you can if you need to cancel. Check the engineer's own terms as well.
6. Guarantees and insurance
Any guarantee on the work comes from the engineer. Ask what the guarantee covers, and ask for it in writing. Ask the engineer to confirm their insurance cover before work starts, since cover differs from one business to the next.
7. Information on this website
Pages on this site give general information only. Cost figures show typical UK ranges from third-party price guides, so your quote may come out higher or lower. Nothing here counts as legal, insurance or building advice.
8. Using the website
Please use the request form for real drainage problems only. Do not send false details, and do not try to disrupt the site. While we try to keep the site running, we cannot promise it will always work without a break.
9. Liability
We cannot control the work or the engineer who carries it out. So please raise any problem with the work with the engineer first. Nothing in these terms limits your rights under consumer law.
10. Access and safety
The engineer needs safe access to the drainage system. Tell the engineer about any hazards at your property before they arrive, since access problems may change the quote. Clear the area around the drain if you can.
11. Complaints
Please use the online request form to raise any concern about this website. For concerns about drainage work, contact the engineer who did it. You can also read our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy.
12. Changes and law
We may update these terms from time to time. The date at the top shows the latest edit. These terms follow the law of England and Wales.
